Primary sources first

Government ministries, regulators, official registers, insurer policy wordings and product disclosure documents are preferred for rules and product terms.

Jurisdiction matters

A source from one country is not used as evidence for another. Germany and Malaysia are treated as separate editorial jurisdictions.

Date sensitivity

We check whether thresholds, contribution rates, product rules or regulatory requirements are dated. Old figures are not presented as current without verification.

No anonymous “best” claims

We do not create unsupported best-insurer rankings from generic web summaries. Comparative statements should be tied to transparent criteria.

Editorial note: This page is educational. Premiums, eligibility rules and policy wording change. Check the current policy documents and regulator information before buying or cancelling insurance.

Primary sources we use

For Germany, our preferred sources include the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG), BaFin and public consumer-protection information from Verbraucherzentrale. For Malaysia, we prioritise Bank Negara Malaysia and PIDM. Product-specific facts should be checked against the insurer's current policy wording and disclosure documents.
